Trapping – First Takedown – Lock On Ground

[ppmaccordion id=”2″ color=”#DC017A”][ppmtoggle title=”Trapping – Take down – lock on ground”]The trapping can be done either defensivly where you parry and incoming punch. Or offensively where your opponent parries your punch. Either way you redirect and press down on the arm.
Creating the push up and down position in the kata. You are on the outside when doing this. The opponent throws a second punch.
You redirect this over and envelope (fold up) his arms. This is the movement that is sometimes described as a palm heel stike (it is not!).
You move to the side (Re-angle – cat stance shift) and unentangle your arms with a bridge using the back of the arm applying pressure on the opponents folded arms. You then pin the arms and strike to the head. Kick the leg out and elbow them in the face as they fall forward. Grab the head and the crook of the elbows. Step back (create space for them to fall into) pulling the head underneath and pushing the arm up and over. Keep a hold of their arms as they fall. Use the mawashi uke to fold up the arm for a wrist lock well the lie on the ground (Mas showed you this).

Holding the hands can be to stop the grip changing.”][/ppmtoggle][ppmtoggle title=”Keep Downward Pressure on Arms”]Use the arms out to the side to keep downward pressure on the opponenets arms this stops them appying full pressure to your neck.  Do not lift off and drop down again – this drops your weight through your neck.  Instead apply downward pressure as you drop down.

The pulling of the hands away only works if the opponent is bigger than you.   If you are bigger than them you have to lift off the arms to pull away.  This increases the pressure on your neck.

Cross Hands

[ppmaccordion id=”5″ color=”#DC017A”][ppmtoggle title=”Wrist Grabbed From Behind”]The KU reversal drills version. The hands are grabbed from behind.
Bring hands over head. Grab one hand and pull the other hand free.
Grab other hand and pull the other hand free. The pull down can be used as a shock down to make the opponenets head go forward.
Then do the next sequence of the kata. Grab the head. Other hand goes to the crook of the elbow. Pull head down and under. Push arm up and over. For take down. If the take down fails turn 180 and whip them round like the last move of the kata.[/ppmtoggle] [ppmtoggle title=”Joint Lock Take Down”][/ppmtoggle] [ppmtoggle title=”Morote-Seoi-Nage (Two-Handed Shoulder Throw)”]https://youtu.be/3c-bkKXOxLU[/ppmtoggle][ppmtoggle title=”MOROTE SEOI NAGE Both Hands Shoulder Throw”] Makes some interesting points about the hands at the end – could explain changing of hands in kata[/ppmtoggle][ppmtoggle title=”Drop Seoi Nage”][/ppmtoggle][ppmtoggle title=”Travis Stevens Teaches the Drop Seoi Nage”][/ppmtoggle] [ppmtoggle title=”The crossing hands explained”][/ppmtoggle][ppmtoggle title=”Morote Seoi Nage”][/ppmtoggle] [ppmtoggle title=”Cross Lapel Grip Seoi Nage”][/ppmtoggle] [ppmtoggle title=”Your Title Yere”]Your Content Here[/ppmtoggle][/ppmaccordion]
